Heaven in my imagination inspired by Sathukarn song

Hello! I didn't write any new article on this Suttilak blog for long time. It because of my study and Good news!! I just passed my oral exam on 8 September 2008 and I cleared some duties just a few weeks ago. Therefore I have got a little free time again. So, I want to update my blog with my art story as usual ;)

OK! here we go! These pictures below were actually took from many years ago. When I was a student year 4 of the faculty of fine and applied arts from Khon Kaen University I have heard the traditional Thai classical music named Sathukarn and I just fell that this song was very beautiful. After that, I tried to find out because I wanted to know the history of Sathukarn song and it was really amazing and wonderful origin indeed. I have known that the history of Sathukarn song came from the old Thai fairy tale about the entertainment on the heaven which was the style of idealistic Thai heaven. So, there were fews of my artwork paintings inspired by the history of Sathukarn song and you can see what heaven in my imagination looks like by taking a look at the pictures of my artwork paintings below.

This was my first sketch. I created the drawing to capture my feeling at the moment when I listened to the song again and again. I thought I saw the view just like the landscape but it was about heaven or paradise in the history so I would better call that heavenscape, right? Hahaha..

Anyhow, you would see how I put each objects in the painting. It looked like there were many things many objects in the painting. Well, actually there were not several objects at all. Most objects I often put into the painting were the clouds in Thai traditional painting style and decorated with Thai traditional gold leaf painting design.

I intended to create the picture of heaven in my imagination to be very alive elegant unique and just like that you were taking a look at a view of landscape or skyscrape. Therefore if you look at the paintings below you may see the big round moon at first sight. See?

After that you just wanted to see more by looking at other details around the painting. Oh I forgot to give you the information that these heaven series sketches were created by black pencils on 300 g. 100% cotton paper and the paintings were created by water color and gold leaf method on paper as well. The size of both paintings were about the size of A4 paper. I estimated.

Some people said they liked my black and white sketch more than the colored painting. Oho! It's ok. Hahaha.. At least I also appreciated they still liked my art. ^_^
So! What do you think of my art? You can also leave me a feedback by writing a comment to the article you would prefer to let me know how you feel, enjoy or not. Alright, I would better stop this article for now. It's time to dinner with my parents. Thank you very much for your interest. I will write more later. Have a good time! Bye Bye..

Thai Mural Paintings on the walls of Wat Phra Keo

Hello again! How was your day?
Did you cheer any athletes in Beijing Game?
Of course ^_^
Anyhow I hope you still enjoy your life and art.

Today I have a little free time so I think I should write something new on my blog. Therefore, here is the more information about Thai traditional mural paintings of the "Ramakien" on the walls of the galleries surrounding Wat Phra Keo.

The picture above shows that tourists were walking to see the mural paintings along the walls of the galleries surrounding Wat Phra Keo.

This is the picture of Hanuman, the great warrior of Phra Ram. He was the super monkey! He had the fantastic power. He protected his boss from any harms so bravely and excellently.

Here is the details of Thai traditional glod design. In the picture above you would see the background board behind the actor and actress which shows the very details of the painting. In the background board there are a Kinaree and her children surrounding with the traditional Thai design.

See! It has so many exquisite details in this painting.

The subject of this painting is about Thodsakan and Nang Sida were together at the beautiful palace.
The picture above is the wide view of the painting.
RAMAKIEN
Thai Mural Paintings on Wat Phra Keo's Wall
( The following information is from the guide book named Thailand a traveller's companion, Second edition 2002: Archipelago Press)

The information of the Ramakien mural paintings found in the book above and they said that: The tale of Ramayana or Ramakien in Thai is told in 178 panels, each occupying the area between two pillars of the many that support the gallery; poems about the action, composed in the reign of King Rama V, are inscribed on marble slabs set into the relevant pillar.

Though originally painted by order of King Rama I when the temple was built, the murals have been restored many times, most recently for the 1982 Bangkok bicentennial celebrations.

These works are almost identical to the original 1930 compositions executed under the direction of Phra Thewapinimmit, and reflect the style of that era with Western perspective, the use of shadows, and naturalistic rendering of the landscape, and with characters drawn in a conventional Thai manner.

The picture above is my drawing sketch artwork. I found that It was very useful when I wanted to create a new picture in my imagination to the wide view like heavenscape instead of landscape, I will use Thai traditional design to decorate some space in the picture so that would make beauty charmingly.

This picture is another look of Thodsakan when he was angry and ready to fight. He would spread his arms up to ten!!

This is the wide view of the painting.

This picture was me and the beautiful pillar painting in Wat Phra Keo.

For this post, you may understand more about the beautiful mural paintings above. Next time what the story would be, don't miss. I'll be back. See you later. Good bye for now :)

Those are my wonderful experience
as a seller on eBay.com

You may understand.
I was so excited when my customers
had received their items already,
and I was just so very delighted again
when they were pleased with my art
and gave me a very nice and warm praise
in my feedback profile.
You can see what they said about me

It's my lucky to meet them, all lovely customers.
I just want to say that you make me alive!
You make me want to improve my art
to be the best as well as I can.

Well, I am a member of eBay.com
since: Sep-03-07 in Thailand
Currently I don't sell my art for a while.
It because of my study.

Anyway, let's see the sold items of me!

All size of my artworks shown here for this article
(except the Kinnaree picutre)
is approximately 2.5 x 3.5 inches only.
It is the size of ACEO.
(Artist Cards, Editions and Originals.)

ACEOs are very popular and collectable.
You can find thousands of the unique styles
from many artists from around the world
on eBay.com

The technic I often use for my ACEOs
is colored pencils and gold leaf method
on 300 g. cotton paper.

Here is my first collections sold on eBay.

"She wears Prada"
and
"Let's Party! Collection"

The composition of these red flamingo flowers are lovely.
So the name of this picture is "Shall we cance?"

"Viva!" is the hardest one. There are many details of the flowers and I wanted to learn how it could be if I drew flowers in the very small frame size. (Just 2.5 x 3.5 inches ONLY!)

"Peacock Series"

"Peacock series" and "Fire-Water" is the first collection that I introduced my gold leaf method to buyer and I was so fun to express my art in modern style.

Peacock is my favorite bird. I think peacock is the most beautiful bird and he should be the king of birds since he seems richer than other birds. Don't you see? Just look at his tail, decorated with such a precious jewel. Moreover, he always wears the crown on his head all the time. Hehehe...

"Fire - Water"

The high light of these piece of art is the using of Thai design and gold leaf method which were expressed in the modern composition.

"Lotus collection"
And Lotus is my favorite flower, so I just wanted to create some pieces of art which the subject is about lotus. Of course, I still was fun with the modern composition as well as the presentation of my unique style which is influenced by Thai traditional design before I returned to create more classic style.
